Today has been a bad day. The trading is the least of my worries.
Football.
The football green is from the Panama v Guadeloupe match last night.
Horse Racing.
I started well over the first 5 races, a scratch and 4 wins, to give me a £0.58 green and then I let a trade get away from me and took a £0.71 loss. I was annoyed and even though I took a £0.19 green in the next race to put me back over the top I wasn't paying attention and thought I had more to get and let another race get way away from me and then left it to go in-play. I let it run as the price went up and down and up and down. Eventually I dumped it for a £2.06 red. It then went down through my original layout seconds later. One of the perils of letting a race go in-play and why you should never do it unless it's part of your original trading strategy and you have picked that horse specifically to go in-play. Even at this point my red for the day was only £1.90 but I was annoyed.
Tennis.
I had been ignoring most of the tennis all day even though some of them were on video but I had seen Becker v Evans on the coupon , and after viewing the stats became, in my mad chasing mindset, convinced that Becker would take it and I could recover my loss. Utter madness!. Evans pipped Becker in the first set tie break but Becker came back strong to win the second 6-3 and on to the 3rd they went. Becker came close to breaking Evans so often especially in the penultimate game and I could have redded it for a small loss but I let it go and after god knows how many break points it went to Becker serve and he got broken to lose the match. I managed to red out and save a small part but not much.
So what was driving this madness?. Why was I even able to do all this "trading"?. I was supposed to return to work today as my back was feeling almost completely healed. I had been able to do lots of housework and other things over the weekend without pain. I felt ready and was looking forward to getting out of the house. I went to the shops in the morning and I bent down to get something without taking care. I felt something in my back move and was instantly worried. Upon straightening up I was relieved to feel no real pain but when I began to walk it began to ache. This progressed to sharp nerve pain up and down my leg and lower back and by the time I got home I knew I was not going anywhere. I had thought about just shovelling down the painkillers and getting on with it but with it feeling worse than anything I'd felt for a couple of weeks I decided it wasn't worth the risk. I was really annoyed with myself and frustrated at the set back. I think as the day went on and the pain persisted this affected my mindset. The trading became abstract in the face of my injury returning. It's nowhere near as bad as it was when it first happened but it has the potential to go there if I'm not careful. Tomorrow I will have a better idea at the level of this setback and how long it will be before I'm back to where I was. Fingers crossed.
As for the trading, plod onwards, nothing else for it. Brand new low square one.
Keep it green everybody.

Crotig,
ReplyDeleteFeel real bad about your persistent painful back...it is self consuming and the pain is horrible. Hope you get over this injury and can get back to normality.
Jake
Thanks Jake. Just have to take it easy.
