P&L for 31/10/09-01/11/09Football : -19.73P&L since last post : -19.73Football.31/10I started off the day well enough with green on the Russian match. I was determined to do well on the Arsenal v Tottenham game and that probably contributed to what happened next. You should never intend a result other than green as it pushes you into foolish risks. I for some reason started trading FULL BANK. Where is my discipline?, my staking plan? WTF??!!. I had hedged a large green and was quite chuffed with myself when I decided to do one last trade before half time. Of course I was caught in the double whammy and of course I had to red out. I took a
69% loss of bank. I could not believe my stupidity. Months of time and effort down the drain. I closed the market and decided not to trade again until the 1500 matches with my much reduced bank.
I did trade the Everton v Aston Villa and Man U v Blackburn games for small green but I was still reeling. I stopped for dinner.
I came late to the Xerez v Sevilla match and with only one goal and about 10 mins left to go I was deciding on a trade when I backed under 2.5 at 1.16 and then left a lay in at 1.01. I was all green before the 90th min second goal. The chase began.
On to the AC Milan v Parma match I did the same thing. I backed unders with about 10-12 mins to go and left a lay in at 1.01 and again I was green before another 90th min goal. I know this was foolish but I was past caring.
On to the Ath Bilboa v Atl Madrid . This time I shortened it from 1.09 to 1.05, I'm not sure why perhaps some semblance or sense reasserting itself.
Final match of the night was Braga v Beneficia backed under 2.5 at 1.17 and what I feared would happen eventually I got caught in the second goal... but I didn't red out. I let it run and it came green. I don't know where my head was, relying on pure luck like that.
So I ended the night having reduced my loss to
44% of bank and wondering where I would go tomorrow.
01/11I had a brilliant(sarky) started to the day when my debit card got declined at the checkout in Asda first thing. I stood trying to figure it out while the people in the queue behind me were probably thinking 'destitute gambling degenerate'. Okay maybe that part was my imagination but it felt like that. Finally I realised the damn card had expired at the end of October. I normally only notice these thing when the new one comes but no card had arrived. Something to ask the bank about tomorrow, no doubt the postal chaos will be trotted out as a reason. I had to pay for my shopping with a credit card.
So on to the trading, and I use the term very loosely. I quick trade on the Herucles v Sociedad match to start the day off. I used only a percentage of bank and no long chasing trade. So far so good.
Well that didn't last long. 1860 Munich v Kaiserslutern. Another last 10 ticks trade full bank. I guess I wasn't done chasing. I did variations of the same thing for the rest of the day. Sometimes full bank, sometimes 50%. Sometimes no goal came, sometimes I just dodged one i.e. Cardiff v Nottm Forest. By the last match of the night I had reduced my red to
18% of my bank before I took the loss.
I know that I have been incredibly fortunate to manage this and I know it was blind luck and could have gone very differently. So I go into the rest of the new month with a vow to stick to my staking plan and to try and be disciplined as if there is a next time I might not be so fortunate.
Keep it green everybody.
