Only 5 markets over 4 matches for this post. There were an awful lot of high scoring matches and I don't get on well in those. I prefer a nice 0-0/1-0 fast descending unders market. Managed to squeeze out a decent green without taking too many chances.

The weekend is upon us once more. I hope it is less of a rollercoaster than last weekend.

Just 9 markets over 8 matches over the last 3 days. Despite all the in-play matches on with the Carling Cup and euro equivalents my heart hasn't been in it. I hurt my back again on Monday and to make things extra tough I have Flu as well. So my enthusiasm level hasn't been at top notch but still able to post a green. Starting to feel a bit better now though so hopefully tip top for the weekend.

Friday got off to a terrible start when after doing two successful trades on the Watford v Sheffield Wed I got caught out on the second goal and had to red out for £27.23 loss. What a stupid goal it seemed as well. He just kind of shoved between two defenders who sort of stood there and watched him go and kicked it past the keeper who's dive seemed pointless. Perhaps just how it looked on tv.
So I was a bit annoyed and traded 3 other matches before the end of the night reducing the red by a small amount.

Saturday started much better with me seeing green in fair quantities, especially on the Wolves v Villa match, and at the end of the Tottenham v Stoke match I was within £3 of being back into green for the weekend. Tragedy struck with Derby taking the first goal against QPR so I took a £15 red but stupidly rather than leave it there I got a chasing bug and went back in again only to get caught out again on the second goal because I wasn't paying attention to the fact that a free kick was about to be taken and more than doubled my red to £30.27 for that match. I took the hint and left that match alone after that.
I carried on with the Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese matches and recovered some of the red but then threw it away on the New York v Toronto match where I decided to try a first 10 mins traded thinking the sodden pitch would hold things up to start. Instant 1st min goal and a £6.37 red taken. I went to bed disgusted with myself.

Started of the day well with a green result on the J-league match only to take a red on the Russian game. Sigh!!. I got a bit reckless after this and pressed hard on the afternoons premier league games and despite Liverpool pressing hard on Man U I gained a massive green from that match which settled me down a bit. I traded a bit more calmly after that and was looking to post a red of about £12 for the weekend when I saw that Chevio v AC Milan was still 1-0 as it went into the last 10. I did get in on the U 2.5 only for a goal to come and I dumped it for a small £2.73 red. For reasons I can't even explain to myself when the Porto v Academicia match was 3-1 with about 2 mins to go I tried to recover that £2.73 on the U 4.5 market only to get caught but the dying moments goal and took red of £19.05. Utterly ridiculous!! What was I thinking??!!. One quick trade on the Brazilian match ended the weekend with me clinging just above my most recent target.

£91.72 of red and £60.37 green. I got too emotionally involved and the was unable to take the initial red on the chin and wanted to recover it all by the end of the weekend. This made me press harder than I should and do some downright ridiculous things. This is one of those weekends that could have easily resulted in a near total loss of bank. As it is I came out better than I should have. I must work harder to be less emotionally invested in my trades. Much to think about.

I didn't think I would get any trading done tonight as my Eeepc had refused to boot up during the day and it has the Betting assistant software on it. When I got home and tried it again though it worked fine, Hmmm. I started in on the Chelsea v Atl Madrid game and had completed 3 successful trades before getting caught out, fortunately I had not been completely matched and so the loss was minimised. I traded 3 other Cl matches and managed to eek back into green for the day.
I had the River Plate v San Lorenzo match open just out of interest and there was a surprising amount of liquidity in the market, probably from people chasing there CL losses. I did several trades throughout the course of the match and brought my green for the day up to a more pleasing amount.

Once again after completing several trades I got stung on the Beneficia v Everton game. The loss was larger than I would have liked but discipline held and I took the red. Discipline then fell apart as I did a long trade through most of the rest of the first half to cut the red in half. I left it alone after that which was good considering how the rest of the match went. I traded 3 other matches which brought my red down just £0.04 for the day.

The Eeepc not working during the day may have saved me from a Davydenko loss as Safin beat him and I was able to steer myself away from WTA as well.
I'm still having discipline and patience issues and I've been fortunate not too take big losses. Still have to work on reigning myself in and not being so greedy. Usual Friday evening fare tomorrow and then into a busy weekend. Let's hope for another green one.

I did well in the Fulham V Hull match on Monday night with several trades on under 2.5 and 3.5. It was my only match that day so I was pleased.
I missed the first half of all the champions league matches tonight. I started doing trades on the Liverpool v Lyon match in the second half and had built up a reasonable green but was greedy and got caught out on the second goal and had to red out for a loss. The Arsenal and Barcelona matches allowed me to scrape back into the green by £0.29 for the two days. I did a couple of trades on the Brazilian 2nd div match to bring me up to the mammoth total you see at the top. Pity about the red tonight but you can't win 'em all and at least I stuck to my staking plan.

I had been tempted by Clijisters on today's tennis but at 1.03 it was a ludicrous option. It's WTA for crying out loud. Both Davydenko and Soderling are playing tomorrow. Davy is 1.43 against Safin??. Maybe a post win reaction, who knows.

I stayed true to my track record of immediately taking a big loss after having reached a target and this time in the most stupid way.
I had greened up my match odds trade of Davydenko v Stepanek and with Davydenko serving what turned out to be the final game of the match I opened set betting to see if there was any option there, not expecting there to be. I was surprised to see money available at 1.05 on 2-1 Davy and leaped on it without thinking. I was even more surprised when a ridiculous green figure appeared atop the market and couldn't figure it out at first until I realised I had been matched at 200???.... OH NO!!!!. Yes I had backed 2-0 instead of 2-1 because I wasn't paying attention and acted too hastily. The game was in the third set so obviously it was an instant loss. What a Muppet!!!.
Seething a little but trying, and failing, not to let it get to me I did trades on Djoko and Nadal in their matches later in the day. Both were nerve wracking because the early loss had me loathe to red out and indeed they did both come good in the end but it was bad discipline.

Football.

4 markets over 3 matches in the evening. Decent green made without pushing it too much. Quite a nice end to the day considering how it started.

Small trade on the Davydenko v Djoko match was the only tennis of the day for me. I didn't want to get too involved and the match was all over the place for the both of them.

Missed all of the morning and early afternoon football due to a visitor who showed up later than expected and stayed longer than wanted. I finally got on the second halves of both Arsenal v Birmingham and Sunderland v Liverpool. The 'pool game was great and I racked up big green with probably more trades than was smart (that patience thing again). The Arsenal match was a bit daft with me getting caught out on the late goal and doing a cross fingered approach. Stupid stuff even though it came through, could have just as easily gone the other way. Not many matches done after that, although I did pull some nice green out of the Newcastle and Barcelona games.

I had to go out in the morning and wasn't certain if Nadal could win the final but felt he would go up and down a bit so I stuck in a trade for a small stake over a larger range than normal and it did green out thankfully before he went on to lose.

Football.

I was out all morning and didn't get home until the end of the Blackburn v Burnley game so nothing done there. Small trades on many of the matches with Wigan v Man City being my biggest green with U 2.5 and 3.5 . I did well in the Ath Bilboa v Gijon U 2.5 but got caught out on the U 3.5 market when the 3rd goal came and had to red out reducing the day's green.

Happy enough with the end result of the weekend considering my reds totaled £34.60 and my greens came to £50.04. I'm still kicking myself a bit on the stupid tennis market mistake and it affected me throughout the weekend. The target was once again achieved and I've switched to 10% staking again although this time I'm using 10% of start of day bank + days profit so far stake. Probably another sign of my greedy impatience but we'll see how it goes. Tennis front will be quiet this week with no big matches coming up. Plodding onward.

Tennis.

A foolish start to the day. I backed Safin at the beginning of the 2nd set. It looked like he would take the match easily with Berdych appearing to be injured but what followed was ridiculous. Safin appeared to fall apart mentally and began UE all over the place after a lucky net cord clinched a break for Berdych. I lost count of the number of times Safin had an easy put away and instead belted it over the line or into the net. At one point in the third he was heckling Berdych about his leg injury which was a bit much for a supposed pro sportsman. I managed to get out with just £10.80 red which I still consider a miracle. Bad discipline on my part.
I know I had said I would be steering clear of Nadal but I got sucked in after he took the first off Blake and so I backed him but of course it started to go wrong in the second and the price began to rocket upwards. I decided to red out but my iffy mobile BB connection was playing up and I had to reset it and in the time it took to do that the price came back down to where I could get out for a small green which I took and felt relieved.

Football.

I did reasonably well on the four European group WC matches I traded but it was the South American group matches I did much better on . I did several Peru v Bolivia trades and had a fluke price drop on a Uruguay v Argentina trade which netted me 7 ticks instead of the 1 tick the lay was placed for. This not only pushed me into green for the day but also pushed be back over the target I have been dancing above and below for the past two weeks. Waheey!.

Started the morning with green on the Davydenko v Gonzalez match. I thought Gonzalez was a bit over the top with his criticism of Davy on the challenge delay issue, didn't appear to be taking too long to me. A small trade on Soderling v Tsonga came next. In the afternoon I once again got sucked into the Nadal vortex. I backed him on 2-0 but after consideration scratched it when my discipline finally reared it's head. This proved to be a good decision as the price began to rise steeply. Nadal did recover it in the end and take the 2-0 but I didn't need the stress.

Football.

I did not expect to trade any football today as there was only 2 matches on. When I got home I had a look at the England v Wales U16 match and there was a decent enough amount of liquidity on so I traded it for a bit and I even got to see a runaway hot air balloon chase on Fox news which was on the stream during half time.

Another busy weekend of Football approaches and I hope it will be a good one. Patience!!!. I must have PATIENCE!!. I have been trying to force things too much.

Just the one match traded, Blake V Karlovic. My first trade went roaring in the opposite direction leaving me with an annoying red but I managed to bring it back to green by the end of the match, just!. I should have stayed clear of Blake.

Football.

A bad start to the football with a boredom trade on the Greek Div 2 match which went wrong leaving me with big red and feeling stupid. The Tranmere v Stockport match went a long way to making me feel better though and a small green from the Portugese match helped too.

Started the day with the Davydenko v Kunitsyn and Hewitt v Isner matches. I was up and down on both before settling for minor green. I went on to the Soderling v Hanescu match and did much better there.

Football.

Just the 2 matches tonight for me. Brazil v Costa Rica and Eire v Switzerland. I did reasonably well on both, before and after first goal.

I'm glad to see overall green after all the red I saw over the last two days. I will have to keep myself in check from the small matches especially while bored. A lot of internationals tomorrow, but that annoyance called work will keep me away from most of it. I will also steer clear of the Nadal v Blake match as well, too much can go wrong.

I backed Nadal 2-0 when he took the first set from Safin and I was able to let it run to 1.01 for a nice green.

Only the one match traded Greece v Portugal U21. I was not in the mood and had a visitor as well so I decided to leave it there.

I had not planned to get up early for the tennis but my neighbours had other ideas, bastards!!. So as I was awake I took a look at the Soderling v Djoko match and did a quick trade at just the right moment that went very well. I unfortunately followed that up with a pre-match back of Nadal against Cilic. Eventually I admitted that Nadal was not going to recover the first set and redded it out. I did not want to flip to Cilic as that can be a recipe for disaster with Nadal and Indeed he did begin to look like he was going to recover his game. I put another small back on Nadal and did have the chance to reduce my red drastically but got greedy and decided to hold out. So I lost a bit more when Nadal just couldn't find the form and Cilic was playing very well. £25.18 red. A bad start to the day.

Football.

I was not optimistic at recovering my big loss as there was just the internationals to do but I did get back to green for the day thanks mainly to the Japan v Scotland. Lots of liquidity and nothing happening in the match. I traded throughout the match and made an impressive green. The green continued to come over the next 12 markets/10 matches and I was chuffed with the days endeavours if not with the way it began.

Djoko v Cilic in the final. I watched the first 2 games to see how they were playing and then began laying Djoko during the Cilic serve and greening it out when it rose 5 ticks higher. I good green when the rain came and wish I had left it there. A couple of hours later when I looked back in on the match and Djoko has just recovered his break from Cilic I backed Djoko but of course it went a bit awry at this point and I had to red it out, ouch. As the tie break went to 6-3 Djoko I backed Djoko set betting which brought my red for the match to £0.12. This week has not been my strongest for Tennis at all.

Football.

Limited opportunities on the football. Danish Div 1, Italian Serie B, Spanish Segunda, and a Bolivia v Brazil WC match. I kept the trading to a minimum and just took small opportunities when I could. So a good enough day considering what was available.

An all green weekend on the football, no losses. It's a shame the tennis let me down. but still a green weekend. Will Nadal regain his form?. I doubt it will magically reappear for Shanghai so I will have to perhaps steer clear of him if he is going up against anyone with a smattering of ability. One thing you can say about him though is he never gives up and will battle every point no matter how far behind, whereas a lot of the bigger names if they are staring defeat in the face will just surrender in the final game. We will have to see what happens.

Tennis.

I attempted a trade on the Verdasco v Ferrero but scratched it when it looked iffy. I did back Djokovic against Troicki but dumped it early on for a couple of ticks when Djoko had a poor start and Serb tanking conspiracy theories started going round in my head. Daft I know.
I did a very quick trade on Youzhny that turned quite big when the market dropped suddenly which made for a good start to the day. I broke my WTA rule by backing Petrova when she was 5-2 up in the TB in the final set. It went up and down and with Petrova serving at 6-5 I was considering dumping it for a loss to play it safe when the game finished so quick I didn't get a chance. Turns out the stream I was watching was over a minute behind. In fact when it suspended there was still quite a bit available to back at 1.34.

I will have to reign myself in and not back WTA no matter how tempting it is. Hope for a good weekend.

So the China Open begins. Just the one trade this morning on Djoko v Hanescu. It had to be a blind trade as although I was awake I was working and unable to monitor the match. I didn't think he'd have much trouble, however this is not the best strategy as it turns out.

Football.

Reasonable enough day for a Monday. 6 markets over 5 matches. I was very tired.

It's probably pretty obvious by now what happened. F**king Del Potro. I backed him before setting off for work and stuck in my hedge out point. I had this crazy notion that the winner of the US open who has had a decent hard court season would have no trouble seeing off who-the-f**k Vasselin in the 1st round. I guess he must have been ill or weighed down by the wads of mafia cash in his pockets or something. Yes I'm being unfair and venting but hey what are blogs for. This set the tone for the day for me. I backed Nadal and was able to watch the scoreboard at least through this match. I doubt anyone could disagree that he is not back to form yet but at least he won. I wanted to back Soderling but I was still feeling burned by Potty and didn't.

Snooker.

Yes snooker, it's the game where they hit coloured balls around a table I think. Okay I know a bit more than that about it but it's not a market I've looked at much. I backed Osullivan when he started to take the lead over Burnett for small green. I think in reality I was just chasing.

Football.

Let the disasters continue. Not a lot of football on this week. I slept through the Ghana v Sth Africa match waking only at the end. I crazily decided to trade the ET under 1.5 market even though I have never gone there before. I was deciding whether to green up on my initial trade when the goal came and I had to red out. I was still annoyed when it got to 4 mins to go and in a mad chasing moment I backed under 1.5 again and crossed my fingers. Utterly stupid, even though it came in and cleared my red, it was still a bad call. My head was a mess.
With the Norwegian Div 1 game coming to and end without much action I traded it heavily and made decent green and was beginning to feel better even though in reality I was still recklessly chasing.
I got stung on the Hungary v Czech Republic under 2.5 market and had to red out and then when that match went in to ET I got stung again on under 1.5. What am I doing. I did come green on Egypt v Costa Rica but it doesn't nearly offset my losses.

A very poor day for discipline and patience. The fact that I was tired and sleep deprived probably had something to do with it. The Potty loss first thing just hacked me off although I only have myself to blame. So once again I have taken a big hit after a good weekend, even bigger than last time. Tomorrow will be different. I am only planning on looking at the Djoko match and I will be able to monitor that one so no blind faith effort. I will reign myself in on the football as well and try not to be so reckless or greedy. It's all a learning experience, and perhaps one day I will actually learn LOL!.

I was messing around with the new short lived release of Betrader Evolution and made a whole £0.09 on the Davydenko v Monfils match. More on BE later.

Back on Betting Assistant for reasons I'll go into later. 14 markets traded on 12 matches. Started well on the Russian game and continued well through out the day. Very tired though by the end of the night having been woken by my beloved noisy neighbours early again. Made the same target that I hit last weekend again, let's hope I don't have the same mistake.

Tennis.

The Soderling v Davydenko match was not my finest hour. I had done some trading on Soderling and made a little green when I backed him when he was 40-30 up serving the 5th game of the third set. He had Davydenko out of position and came up to the net and all he had to do was just tap it over but instead he bashes it into the net. Davydenko ended up breaking him and I had to red out for a big red. In an undisciplined moment of fury/rage/huffiness I backed Davydenko for far more than I should have which brought my red down to a very small amount. It was foolish as it could easily have flip flopped back to Soderling again and cost me big time.

15 markets over 13 matches and I come out £0.77 for the day thanks to a loss in the Sevilla v Real Madrid where I got caught out by the first goal. It would have been a good day otherwise. I suppose as it was a green day , and weekend, so it was a good day.


So another weekend, target re-achieved once again. The impromptu launch of Betrader Evolution was short lived thanks to Betfair not being on the ball again. I did like the new software and it is good to be able to use it in Linux now but there were a few bugs that I shall post in the Racingtraders forums when it comes back on. To be expected on such new software released in a hurry to fill the gap caused by Betrader Pro server problems.
The China open is upon us. I shall continue my method of sticking with the big names and staying away from the WTA. I'm not going to push for big results.

Football.

I have begun using Betting Assistant from Gruss as Betrader Pro is still down. It has many of the same features and it's free for 30 days. Primarily from it I need a ladder interface, one click betting , and hedge function. A lot of its other functions are for horse racing and I don't use them.
I started the day okay with a couple of small trades and when I got home in the evening all the money seemed to be in the Man U v Wolfsburg match. I had done 3 trades successfully when I got caught out on the first goal and had to red out for a £10.56 loss. I was not amused but these things happen. I was able to make a little of it up on another 2 matches before calling it a night.

Tennis.

Still a bit miffed from the mistake/loss of the previous night and I suppose chasing a bit. I backed Jankovic when she was 2-0 up and hedge it out as she took the 1st set. I admit it, I slipped, I traded WTA. I'll try not to make a habit of it. I also traded Soderling v Evans successfully as well.

Only one match traded tonight. Fulham v FC Basel. I hit this one over and over again before and after the goal racking up an impressive green for one match at this staking level. I was probably a bit reckless and was wanting to come out green from the day before a little too badly. Something I will have to watch out for.

Tennis.

Just one match traded today. I foolishly backed Berdych when he was adv on Gruel set and of course he didn't take it and I had to wait a bit to green it out. I should have paid more attention before getting in. I also wanted to trade Verdasco but didn't have time to watch the match and wasn't comfortable with a blind trade with him.

Glad to post overall green for the 2 days. I really hope Betrader Pro comes back up before the weekend as I struggle to monitor multiple markets with Betting Assistant due to the different interface. I guess you just get used to what you know.
