P&L for 28/01/12-29/01/12

49 markets. 1 red of £17.19. A busy weekend. Just the one manageable red although I got lucky, there were a few squeaky bum moments held off by miraculous saves. Par for the course.

I watched the Aussie open final yesterday. Quite a match. Rafa certainly gave it his all. At times during some of those rallies he brought it back when others wouldn't have even gone for the ball.

I managed to resurrect my laptop this morning. Got a fresh copy of Win7 on it but running a bit slow. Still better than dead though.

Keep it green everybody.

P&L for 23/01/12-27/01/12

32 markets. 1 red totalling £34.71. Not a bad week with a reduced bank. I could've done without the red but these things happen.

I was caught the last set of the Djoko v Murray match yesterday when I got home from work. I bet a lot of people lost money on the flip flop market at the end. Thankfully I abstained.

My old laptop may no the so dead after all. I opened it today and idly pressed the power button not expecting anything to happen but lo and behold it powered up. Of course there was no drive in it, as I had connected it to the PC weeks ago to retrieve important files, so it got locked in a network boot cycle and wouldn't boot even after I reconnected the drive. There is no reset button on the laptop so I had to power off again and amazingly it powered up a second time. Unfortunately the O/S on the drive is corrupted and I need to re-image it but when I went to power a third time no dice. Pushed my luck too far. The fact that it powered up at all is encouraging and I will try again at some point being ready for anything. I could do without the expense of a new laptop just now if I can nurse this one along for a bit longer. Piggies crossed.

Keep it green everybody.

Football : -42.87

Football.

49 markets. 3 reds totalling £128.35. A bad weekend. two of the reds were pre match lays scuppered by early goals and the third was the last gasp Man City penalty. The second red was larger than it should have been due to me over staking. My overall red would have been much smaller had I not done that.

Still made my withdrawal and now operating on smaller bank.

I see the first 'big name' has fallen in the Aussie Open. Serena Williams beaten in straight sets by Makarova??. Makarova's record shows her beaten in the first round of everything by mediocre players but now she is in the semis and has taken down Serena. Anything can happen.

19 markets. No reds. A welcome all green week. I hope more of the same for the weekend.

I've been keeping an eye on the Aussie open. It's sods law that the time when I'm steering clear of tennis has the big names proceeding easily through the first 3 rounds. No major upsets as far a I have seen. Must stay strong and not be sucked in.
I will be making another withdrawal at the end of this weekend to spend during my holidays week after next. Unfortunately not on anything fun, Mundane stuff like DIY supplies and bike parts. I'll be working harder during my holidays than I do at work

Keep it green everybody.

P&L for 09/01/12-15/01/12

Football : 29.72

Forgot to do my end of week post so this is for 7 days.

Football.

51 markets. 2 reds totalling £81.32. One of these was a Portuguese game with the goal after the end of the posted extra time. No way to avoid that kind of thing unfortunately. The other was down to my carelessness.

Watched some of the midnight Aussie open matches before going to bed last night but wasn't sucked in. Must stay strong.

Keep it green everybody.

I hope everyone had a good festive season. Now get back to work!.

Football.

101 markets. 3 reds totalling £137.63. I was doing quite well but last gasp goals in Liverpool v Oldham and Sunderland v Man City cost me. Unavoidable though. Nice to post green at the end of it all.

It is my sad duty to report that the old Acer laptop I have been nursing along for a year now has finally expired, Aged 4 and a little bit years. An Aspire 5310, underpowered and overworked, it's been having power up issues for a year now forcing me to run it non stop to keep it working but now it's finally dead. I'm having to do everything through my main PC now which is a bit annoying and I don't foresee a new laptop being purchased until mid February at the earliest. I'll just have to muddle through.

Keep it green everybody.
