I'm really not learning

P&L for 02/04/09

Tennis : -22.91

Total P&L since last post : -22.91

Tennis.

Total loss of my burgeoning £23 bank. I was watching the Azarekna v Kuzy match as I had no clue how it was going to go. After Aza won the first set and the second was one game each Aza got two break points on Kuzys serve and seem to be doing well. Her Match odds price was a little low and I decided to back 2-0 set betting. She didn't manage either of her break points and it went 2-1. After this it all went to shit. DF's , balls into net over and over, etc... Kuzy rapidly took the lead in the set and the 2-0 price rocketed out leaving me clawing back all of £1.86 of my £22 bank. Where did I go wrong?

1. I should never have got involved in a match that I had no vision of how it might proceed.
2. If I thought that Aza was too low at 1.15 I should have layed her not back the (slightly) higher price on the 2-0 market especially as that market can move like lightning in huge increments.
3. I should not have been using my full bank, despite the fact that it was only £22
4. I should stop trying to trade every friggin match I see.

As the match went into the third set I was able to lay and back Aza and drag my bank back up to £2.50ish.

Well then I thought what now. Sod it, Nadal v Del Potro great odds on 2-0 set betting whole £2.50ish on it. I honestly didn't think Del Potro would trouble Nadal, but we all know how that one went.

So Busto.

As I had said at the start of the week I was waiting till Fri(today) to reload some more cash and the £12 I put in on Mon was just to tide me over. So another £100 deposited today. Not sure what will be today's markets although a lay of Murray tonite seems almost certain.

Keep it green everybody.

  1. keep at it. Try laying first in tennis - you know how volatile matches can get, take advantage of it. If you're laying the shorts, your risk is so much less. Pick a time when you think there is plenty of upside and not much downside. If lay 1.15, a break of serve will move that to at least 1.3. If the one you've laid, breaks again, how much shorter can she go anyway?

Good luck with it, have added you to my blogroll.

    Cheers
