P&L for 03/03/09
Greyhound Racing : -0.69
Horse Racing : 2.85
Football : -53.19
Tennis : 12.79
Total P & L Since last post : -38.44
Well, not the best start to my blog, having too post a loss. Apart from a little trading on the dogs with £2 stakes the loss came from one football match.
Horse Racing.
I placed only 1 horse racing lay which won. I only lay horses on the short courses with no jumps as I find I get better results without fences or long distances being involved. I never go above 5% of bank liability when laying horses now.
Football.
I traded 7 matches and only lost on one of them but what a loss it was. On the West Brom v Arsenal match I had backed at 1.86 and placed a lay in at 1.76. I sat watching until the market dropped to 1.81 and then I had to go and rescue my dinner which I had forgotten about. When I returned 4 mins later the price was at 10!!!. Yes two goals in the space of 4 mins before 10 mins of the match had gone. I lost £81 redding out at 10. If I had been watching and been able to red out after goal number 1 the loss would have been half that or less but I wasn't and I didn't. Lesson learned. Fortunately all other football trades were successfully completed.
Tennis.
On the tennis I missed out on a good profit on the Peer v Benesova match. I had backed Peer at 1.67 and watched the market and the bet365 scoreboard as she took and early 3-0 lead and her price dropped to 1.18. I could have greened out there for a nice £40 profit but after the loss on the footie I was greedy and wanted to stay in for more as it seemed Peer had the match well in hand. Well apparently she didn't. 3 games later it was 3-3 and Benesova took the set 6-4 and the next one 6-2. Fortunately I had scratched my Peer trade at 1.67 as her price came back up and sneaked in a small trade on Benesova in the second set as she stormed away with it, which netted me £4.32 on the match. I really shouldn't trade on tennis matches that I don't have video for as the scoreboards can be miles behind and I can't see how the players are playing. I managed £8.37 on the Penetta v Craybas match and that ended my day trading.
Bummed about the footie loss, but these things happen when your not paying attention. Do better tomorrow.
Till next time.
