Even when I'm sitting there saying to myself  "Take the red. Plenty of opportunities to recover it. You'll still come out green for the week" I can't seem to make myself do it. AARRGH!!

I'm taking a step back for a while. I'll still be doing some trading but not quite as much. I'm going to have a blog holiday as well so no post for 4 weeks.

First match on Saturday I'm in at the end, 2 goal buffer, a goal comes I go to red out but the red is fluctuating between two prices I try for the lower one and thirty seconds later another goal takes my entire stake. Unfortunate but these things do happen. At least I was trying to red out. Quite chuffed that the red overall is so small.

Another laptop shutdown on Monday had me making plans to get a new one at weekend but it came back to life on Wednesday and I really can't justify the expense if I can continue to coax the old one along. Maybe in a couple of weeks if I've no huge losses.

98 markets . 5 reds totalling £444.06. First red on Tuesday was a stupid not red out on my part and I lost my stake. Totally recovered it all by Friday night when running trades on two Irish matches at the same time I became engrossed in the movie I was watching and completely forgot about them. Of course both matches had 2 late goals each and lost both my stakes. Half stakes but still annoying. The last 2 reds were proper disciplined red outs for small amounts. Still need to work on taking my reds. Even though in hindsight I can see how easy it would be to recover the red amount I still sometimes risk my stake foolishly.

Tennis.

1 market. 1 red of £261.27. Bratchikova v Kvitova. I go in on 2-0 Kvitova as she leads the 1st game of the 2nd set and she crumbles instantly. UE's galore. I red out at the peak of her bad play and she makes a minor comeback but still loses the set but takes the match. Why I still find myself sucked into tennis and in particular WTA is maddening. There must be something fundamentally broken in my head. NO MORE TENNIS!.

So I allowed football reds that should have been a tenth of what they were to drive me into mug tennis punt that cost me dearly and turned what should have been a 200+ green week into a bank halving red. Same record on repeat.

2 markets. No reds. I broke my ban and foolishly entered the tennis this week. I think out of boredom more than anything else. I was in on Li during the final yesterday when she was 4-0 and a set up only to watch as she fell apart. I had to red out and went remainder in on Sharapova to get out 3 games later  after the break in set 3 with a small green. Ridiculous rubbish. I must stay away from the tennis.

All the main football leagues are done. Lots of low liquidity summer games now until euros and Olympics.

46 markets. 2 reds totalling £171.63. My first match of the week on Monday yielded my first red. I let it go on to long as the goals came in. When I finally decided to red out I only got partially matched before I lost the rest. Not good to start the week on a sore spot especially when it could have been avoided. I was green all and back into profit until the Dortmund V B Munich match on Saturday evening. A very bad choice on my part considering and I let it go on longer then I should have again. Ended up taking double the red I needed to but saved a lot of my stake. Really need to get used to taking the losses. The week would have ended green had I taken the smaller reds available.

My thoughts have been clouded with pain all week. My knackered wisdom tooth flared up last weekend and kept going all week. It was taking larger and larger doses of OTC painkillers to make it bearable and by the weekend I was taking what would have been considered overdose levels. I was also using Alcohol to knock it down which is not a good combo and by Sunday I was very ill. I was able to stay off the pills on Sunday and use ice packs to numb it while using every anti-inflammatory trick I knew to settle it down. I was finally able to get a decent nights sleep last night. Still 2 weeks to go till it's removed. Throbbing softly at me right now. I hate my teeth.

I was at work and couldn't monitor as well as I would have liked. I was fortunate to get out fairly early on in the Inter v Ac Milan game or I would have had to be taking a red on that one in the later stages.

My first red coming on Saturday when Wigan somehow managed to score 4 goals before HT and I reddded out rather than wait to see how it went. A larger red on Sunday when I stayed in the Chelsea match far longer than I should have. Good thing I left when I did though as the goals continued to come in. Overall I'm still liking this unders method but the temptation to ride out early goals to the end is strong.

I've been using Zoombet on my mobile for at work trading. I'm liking it quite a bit. It's much faster than Betfair's own offering and you can even use it to change bet persistence after a match has gone in play. Something I can't do on the website or on Betting Assistant from Grussoft. Handy at times.

87 markets. 6 reds totalling £511.46. 3 of these reds amounted to about £30 total and were exactly the sort of reds that you should take when using the new strategy. Unfortunately it was the other 3 that sank most of my bank. I was having a good week up until Friday evening. I had made over £100 green, I had made a large withdrawal(63%) from my bank but didn't think it was bothering me much to be operating with smaller. Last match of the night on Friday, Argentina 2nd Div, I make green on under 6.5 but decide to go back in on under 5.5 and then the goals start coming and even though I had the opportunity to red out for a tiny amount on more than one occasion I didn't take it and I lost my stake. I did the same thing on Saturday night after a all green day this time on Argentina Premier Div under 5.5. Same story, plenty of chances to red out small or scratch and I didn't take them. Same shit on Sunday Man u v Everton. I knew that what costs you using this method was to sit through that many goals and not take the red out opportunities when they come but I did it anyway. 3 times in 3 days. Madness. I don't know where my head was at. I had already taken several small reds over the past 2 weeks and saw how they were easily recoverable so why I chose to adopt a cross my fingers approach I don't know.

My bank is much reduced so now comes the rebuilding.

After reading all 270 odd pages of a thread in the forum about an under 6.5 goals challenge I decided to try my own spin on things. I've been primarily backing under 7.5/6.5/5.5 at between 1.02 and 1.04 and greening out at 1.01. A lot of pre-match backing but some in play up till half time depending on goals scored. The three reds I took were the only occasions where I felt I needed to exit as there were too many goals scored to early for my taste.The reds were all much smaller than reds taken during other methods I've used. I've not developed any hard and fast rules for my red out points yet, just going with what feels right. I did not at any point ride a position all the way to the end as this is how the majority of people in the thread would get busted after a long streak of wins. I'm going to continue this and see how it goes.

After an initial good start , which I should have greened out on, she fell to bits and I took the red when it went pear shaped. She did bring it back to start price in the third before losing but it was probably wise that I didn't hold on for that. Wisest thing would have been to avoid it altogether. PENNETTA?! WTF?!!

I need to make a sizable withdrawal this week unfortunately. The DIY continues to clean me out regularly.

I was having a great week up until Saturday night when in the last match of the night I got shafted by the last second , wrongly awarded, penalty given in the Betis v Villareal match. It was clear from the video replay that the goalie didn't actually make contact with the player. Yet again we are shown the inadequacies of human refereeing in this sport. I followed this with another early goal loss in the Levante v Atletico Madrid match on Sunday morning. I then did something stupid which I'm not going to mention for the third loss.

13 markets. No reds. By contrast the tennis was relatively painless this week. I had to scratch my back of Sosur against Venus on Friday when she began to struggle a bit but apart from that smooth sailing. For a change.

Well at least I brought the week back to green overall. I may try something new for a bit. Let you know.

34 markets. 1 red totalling £112.12. I a good week all round destroyed by a Sunday morning penalty. Zaragoza v Atl Madrid. A 0-0 match with seconds left on it and one player does a sliding tackle from the rear in the penalty area. The guy wasn't even in a position to score. Totally unnecessary, what goes through the mind of these overpaid muppets. The awarded penalty was scored and I lose my stake. Just one of the pitfalls I suppose.

Tennis.

22 markets. No reds. I got sucked back in. Going okay so far but we all know how far that goes. I should really stay away. So little self control.

I'm still in the midst of poorly motivated DIY hell. Progress is being made but at a quarter of the rate it could be. It's staggering when the prize is so big and It's something I really want, i.e. away from this f**king place and the scum who inhabit it, that I can't motivate myself more. Now I can see the finish line in the distance and I estimate I'm 75% done I'm hoping I can drive onward.

Early shift and poor sleep patterns will reign supreme this week so a tough week ahead.

I was partly out on the german match so It was less of a blow. I could have done without it.

My red streak continues but at least I avoided the tennis. Isner beats Djoko, Really?.

50 markets. 2 reds totalling £106.44. The first of these was a bit stupid and could have been avoided and the second I got a bit greedy on and could have avoided as well. Still green for the football.

34 markets. 9 reds totalling £933.05. I blew my whole bank and 3 redeposits in 4 days. What kicked this off was a stupid mistake in the Zhang v Halep match. I forgot to change the stake mode form liability back to stake after a pre-match football lay. Having backed Halep at 1.06 for £99 I then laid out at 1.01 for a £99 liability and turned what should have been a £5 green into a £94 red. I didn't notice till it was too late. I was furious with myself especially as this is not the first time I've done this. It changes colour depending on mode so there's really no excuse. Not a tragedy but it got under my skin. I then foolishly backed Martic in her first round match overnight thinking she would not have too much trouble but she did and I got up for work just in time to see her lose. Later that evening I had to red out on Jankovic v Barthel and Davydenko v Bubka. I ended that evening with a full bank back of Azarenka which I could have greened at 1.01 but didn't for no reason I can recall or fathom and when it looked like she was finished in the 3rd set I took a massive red and switched to Barthel to salvage something only for her to comeback and take it. Bank gone. I did a redeposit the next day and did well on the football through the day but pissed it all away on a full bank back of Gasquet at 1.01(WTF??) which was then, to use the vernacular, "gubbed". I've no idea why I let that one ride instead of taking what little I could on a red out, especially as he clearly wasn't interested in the third set. I redeposit again only to piss it away on Murray v Garcia Lopez overnight. Deposit again on Sunday and do well through the day on the football but then came the tennis again. I tried a lay of Del Potro as Matosevic was holding his own and I thought I could get a few ticks on his serve but this was the point Potro broke him and I had to red out. Recovered that red but then backed Kvitova after her blinding first set which then turned into a copy of the Azarenka match. Total disintegration. One ball into the net after another. Painful to watch.

So many mistakes. All of which I've made before.

So I've a very small sum in my account. I'm not going to put anymore in for now. Just work with what I have. The tennis ban is back in place. I'm clearly no good at it in the long run. Too unpredictable, especially WTA. Morale it as a low ebb and I feel like such a total arse, again!.

51 markets. No reds but by a narrow margin. I was in at end of the Zaragoza v Villareal match. This match was supposed to have 3 mins of stoppage time, as shown by the man with the board and the timer onscreen. I saw nothing during the stoppage time that warranted the match going on for a full five minutes. A goal was scored at 3:30 turning what should have ended a draw into a win for one of the teams. Thankfully my lay out had been taken so I didn't take a loss although I expected to. I didn't get a chance to hedge though so no gain either. It seems unfair that the ref can arbitrarily extend the match beyond the time, I'm assuming , he has originally told his off pitch counterparts. However there was plenty of unfairness going around this weekend.

Tennis.

28 markets. 2 reds totalling £131.63. I'm amazed I got any green on the tennis this week at all, also surprised at the number of matches I was on. It was mostly early morning and late evening stuff as I was working late shift. I was all green until Saturday morning when I took a small red Hsieh v Daniilidou due to an ill thought out position that I redded when the rains came. The other red was on the travesty that was Martic v Hsieh on Sunday morning. Let me first say that it was of course my fault that I took the red because I should have stayed well clear. The organisers seriously screwed up though by making Martic play the final just 3 hours after a 3 set battle with Jankovic, especially as Hsieh had a full day to rest. Disgracefully unfair doesn't begin to describe it it. Despite her fatigue though Martic was winning.6-2 in the first set and a break up in the second will give you an idea of how bad Hseih was. This was where I foolishly entered the fray. It was then heartbreaking to watch the poor girl start to suffer cramps and be unable to serve properly, and not just because I was going to loose money. She was clearly the better player. She then had to retire early in the third, unable to carry on, and left the court in tears. I didn't watch the award ceremony but I only hope Hsieh had enough class to acknowledge how things would have really gone in a fair match up. I have my doubts. At least I was able to come out green overall.

So I was a little less reckless this week but still involved in a lot more stuff than was advisable. Something I will have to try and keep in check.

I was bored and depressed and looking for something to do. I took 3 reds on the Monday, one of which was a technical error caused by me not paying attention. This reduced my bank by half and I then went on a week long reckless spree the results of which you can see above. It worked out this time but it was pure luck. No discipline or stake management. Now I have to try and get back to normal whatever that is.

I withdrew a large portion of the win and I'm now carrying on with stake management back in place and hope fully a lot more discipline. Maybe I needed to get it out of my system.

46 markets. No reds. A good week with a couple of iffy moments. One that stands out at me was a free kick awarded in the last 10 secs of injury time. I forget which match but the video clearly showed the two players barely brushing against each other and the ref was right there with a clear view. One of them pantomimed a fall and a free kick was awarded right in front of the goal. Fortunately it was blocked and the match ended but things like that bug the hell out of me.

Sorry if my last post was a bit brief but I was just no in the mood. Back to work after holiday blues. You may have noticed that I've gone to 1 post a week now instead of 2. Decided it would be easier.
